Why this project matters
In Mato Grosso do Sul, land has been worn thin by an advancing frontier of soy, corn, sugarcane and eucalyptus plantations. This has pushed many smallholders onto degraded pasture with little shade for animals or crops, as rains grow heavier and droughts persist longer. Producers who want to bring diversity back through agroforestry rarely have capital, seedlings or technical support to do it alone. Our partnership with APOMS (Associação dos Produtores Orgânicos de Mato Grosso do Sul) is designed to fill this gap and provide farmers with the technical and material support they need.
